Reports from Letterkenny Meetings:
Report from Letterkenny Self Help Group Meeting
Date: 3 December 2009
Report:
Hi
Due to the bad weather and slippy roads, we had a small attendance at the self help meeting this month.
We each talked about how the last few weeks was for us and had a discussion about certain topics which were as follows:
- The DVD 'message to a stutterer', which we had watched during the last couple of weeks.
- Speech therapists and how much help and self esteem they give to adults who stammer.
We read from handouts, some of the following were some of topics we read about;
- History of stammering.
- why more males than female stammer.
- why do we not stammer when singing or counting.
and more.
We read a few paragraphs each and then discussed them afterwards. We both found the reading a good exercise and the topics very interesting.
Next meeting will be on Thursday January 7th. We look forward welcoming new members in the new year.
Happy Christmas and a happy new year to all!
