Waterford Health Day, 12th May 2010

Date Added:13th May, 2010

Cllr. John Halligan, Mayor of Waterford City presented Waterford Health Day in Waterford City on Wednesday, 12th May 2010. The aim of the day was to give the people of Waterford an opportunity to experience what’s available in their city that will help them to stay healthy. One of the themes to the day was ‘Caring and Supportive Environments’ the venue for this theme was St. Brigid’s Family and Community centre. As this is the venue for the monthly meetings of the ISA Waterford support group we were duly represented on the day.

With the assistance of Jonathon Linklater and Stephen Greene an information stand was supplied, manned on the day by Anthony Fowler and Gerard Walsh of the Waterford support group. A number of people approached the stand over the day and were delighted to hear of such support readily available in their City for people that are challenged by stammering. The Mayor of Waterford Mr. John Halligan has requested we extend him an invitation to attend one of our monthly meetings as an observer; we were delighted and honoured and will be discussing how our others members feel at our next meeting.
