Irish Stammering Association … Children’s Drama Project
February-April 2010
Irish Stammering Association are delighted to be able to bring you news of a new series of drama workshops run by Cathal Quinn, voice coach with the Gaiety School of Acting. The workshops are open to children who stammer between the ages of 8 -14 and have been running successfully for over 12 months.
They will run for 9 weeks starting on Thursday 4th February and will be held in the Gaiety School of Acting, Sycamore St, Dublin 2. Classes will be from 5:00 p.m. – 6:45 pm each Thursday.
These workshops will be part funded by the ISA through grant aid from the HSE. There will be a registration charge of €35 for each child to cover the cost of administration; this works out at just €4 per week which we think represents excellent value.
As there is a limit of 15 places on the workshops please contact Joe at the ISA office on 01 872 4405 to register. Payment can be made by cheque, cash or postal order."
Feedback from children and parents from previous groups has been very positive.
From the kids...
- "I can be myself"
- "I was able to talk in front of an audience"
- "Don't worry, it doesn't have to be perfect"
- "I had a great time and met lots of new friends"
Parents said, my child learned...
- "that she can do things and not to assume she can't"
- "to take risks and relax"
- "that he's not the only one and he's more confident in himself"
