Report from Midlands Self Help Group Meeting
Date: 1 October 2009
Report:
We had a brief discussion about some more locations to place posters about the meeting to publicise the group
We discussed generally how the past month had gone for us. One member said she had started a 'Speech Journal' where she hoped to record events, feelings and observations etc relating to her stammering.
We also talked about our family history of stammering, and the fact that interestingly one attendee only started stammering as a young adult. One attendee told us of his recent experiences working with a Speech & Language Therapist and how that was providing great help and support, especially as he had recently returned to full-time education.
We had a very enjoyable meeting, and yet again had to stop ourselves continuing past the 10pm end time of the meeting!
