Irish Stammering Association announces a Walk and Talk event

Location: Upperchurch, Tipperary

Date and time: 11am on Sunday the 3rd of March 2013

Meeting point: Upperchurch Community Centre Car Park

Length of walk: A leisurely 2-2½ hours

Who is it for?

This will be a social gathering and will provide an opportunity for those who stammer, their family and friends, or those with an interest in stammering to Walk and Talk as they make their way up and around the rolling hills of Upperchurch. Upperchurch has established a well-deserved reputation as a vibrant hub for outdoor recreation and has featured on RTE’s John Murray Show. The Walk and Talk will be led by an experienced local guide. As the group will walk for between 2-2½ hours, it is not suitable for children under the age of 10. Children under 16 should be accompanied by an adult.

How do I get there?

Start from the town of Thurles just off the national route N8 from Dublin to Cork. Take the R498 (signposted Nenagh) for 2.5km to reach a junction with the R503 (signposted Limerick). Follow the R503 for 13km to reach a crossroads with a stone nameplate Upperchurch. Turn right here and travel 500m – the Community Centre is at the T-junction as you enter the village. What should I bring?Please ensure to bring: Walking boots, raingear, snack and fluid.

Lunch?There will be an opportunity to purchase lunch after the walk.
